Picture the scene…
There I was sat in my comfy TV chair with my headset on, playing Halo 3 with two friends.
We had just rescued Cortana and were about to turn High Charity into a hole in the ground when”pop!” the TV goes blank and there’s a horrid burning plastic smell.
My initial thought was that the TV had exploded, however then I noticed the Xbox was off and there was a red light showing on the power brick.
So after letting it cool off I try turning it back on and Wham, RROD. Although the red light was still showing on the power brick.
So, after spending £30 on a replacement power brick the console is STILL showing the RROD, so I now have a £300 paperweight!
I can’t send the console back to MS due to certain… modifications to it.
Oh well, I’ve saved £900 through the modification and new Arcade consoles are only £160.
Anyone want to buy a used yet good working power brick? As I seem to have a spare now ![]()
I’ve just had a lovely weekend with my OH.
Ok, so she didn’t get to mine until 2am on Saturday morning, but the next 4 days were lovely and relaxed I like weekends like that ![]()
I don’t “do” chain email things but as a consolation to my friends I do post them on my blog for everyone to rely to

This time last year a camping I would go (grammatically atrocious, I know) and I had great fun… As it was bone dry and boiling hot!
This year it wasn’t so dry.
I still had as much fun, but I got a bit damper and I realised that having a tent one needs to crawl into, isn’t much fun in the rain.
This is my current home away from home.

Now it’s perfect for a night’s camping and has loads of room for one person, but you do tend to get wet entering and leaving it. So, I’ve decided to upgrade to a slightly larger tent for future longer camping expeditions.

Now I say slightly larger, I just looked at the dimensions and didn’t twig that it’s length (end to end) is 18 feet! Still, at least it means I can walk in and have somewhere I can sit and watch the rain whilst talking to a few other people. Also it has a spare room should I have guests round!
The thing is that it’s only a 4 man tent whereas my current one is a 3 man, so theoretically it shouldn’t be a huge difference.
